Getting help
Email support@cmaxlifting.com and describe what happened and what you expected instead. If it is something you can see on screen, a screenshot saves a round trip.
CMAX is made by one person, so replies take a day or two rather than minutes.
Before you email
These are the things people run into most.
It asked me to pick a username again, and my groups are gone
You have probably signed in with a different method than last time. Signing in with Apple when you previously used Google, or the other way round, creates a second account, because the two identities are not connected to each other. Your training is safe either way: it is stored on your phone, not in the account.
On the username screen, open Already have a CMAX account? and choose Start over. That deletes the empty second account and takes you back so you can sign in the way you did before. Once you are in, go to Settings → Account and connect the other method, and then either one will work.
Why do I have to sign in?
CMAX asks you to sign in with Apple or Google once, so your username exists and so groups, a coach and gym boards have something to attach to. There is no password to invent and no email form to fill in.
Signing in is not where your training goes. Sessions, sets, weights, records and streaks are stored on your phone and work with no signal. Deleting your account does not touch them.
Where is my training stored?
On your phone. It is not uploaded unless you turn on a feature that needs it, and deleting your account does not touch it. If you delete the app, it goes with the app.
How do I get my data out?
Settings → Export data writes a CSV of every set, one row each, which opens in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets. Do this before deleting the app if you want to keep a copy.
I imported from Strong or Hevy and something is missing
The review screen before an import names everything it cannot bring across, and it is worth reading rather than skipping. Known gaps: timed sets (planks, carries, cardio) have nowhere to go yet, set and session notes are not imported, and supersets lose their grouping. Everything else, including warm-up marks and RPE, comes across.
Importing the same file twice is safe. Sets already in your log are recognised and skipped rather than doubled.
My weights look wrong after importing
Almost always a units mismatch. Strong and Hevy both record the unit per row and CMAX uses what the file says, so this is rare, but if a file declares nothing you are asked on the review screen and the answer applies to everything. Delete the imported sessions and import again with the other unit.
Switching between kg and lb
Settings → Units. Everything reformats, including your whole history. Nothing is converted or lost; weights are stored once and displayed in whatever you have chosen.
Something on a gym board is wrong or abusive
Tap the three dots on the record and choose Report, picking the reason that fits. A record reported by three different people is hidden from everyone. You can also Block a person, which hides them from you and you from them, in both directions.
Deleting your account
Settings → Delete account. It removes your account and everything on the server attached to it, and it cannot be undone. Your training log on the phone is not touched.
